![]() ![]() Yeah i went to view it last week, but i didn't know those other differences. How can you tell the car has 16's just from pictures? Thanks mate, you definitely saved me with this. Sports and Sports Luxury models both have electronically adjustable steering while Prestige is manually adjusted by said lever. If it doesn't have that it means the steering is manually adjusted by a lever on the bottom of the steering column. Sports models also have electronically adjustable steering identified by a little squarish knob on the left side of the steering column just under the left window wiper stalk. Sports models don't have cooled seats and only heated. I would check service history as well and revs in casr it has been clocked.Īlso check if it has cooled seats. You can pick up a much better deal, such as a Sports Luxury, for 15k and these engines last a while. ![]() No X badge on fender means it's not an X and a Prestige with sunroof option. Sports come with 18" wheels and you can see this is running on 16s. HID models come with auto headlight leveling. This plus leather seats and no alcantara points toward Prestige. This is the headlight leveling adjuster than only halogen models come with. This is further emphasised by the dial on the right hand side of photo 8. You can see that the bumper has no Headlight washers which means the car has Halogens as opposed to HIDs. Congratulations. That 4th picture is of a different car haha. 55W (i think you meant 55 instead of 50) Based on what i read, 55W only gives about 15-20 more light output than 35W, but is typically more expensive, and because of the higher output, the ballast and bulb dont last as long. is your 1 source for LED Headlights and Xenon HID Kits with 46500+ reviews from happy customers. You did absolutely nothing but get me to do another explanation for my defense. And since the 9003 HID hi/low bulbs have a glare guard, I want to find out for myself just how the light out put will be.Īnd until my kit arrives later this week, searching for people expressing their experiences and opinions on it is a pretty good way to get a quick answer.īut thank you for your contribution. Apparently I'm not the only person that has wondered the same as companies like "casper shields" sell them a la carte. I had a simple question after observing cars with non projector HID's make a switch to halogen due to cost and noticing every car that does have a OEM HID system without projectors have a bulky glare shield. ![]() We're probably not so much different on this subject, Because common sense does entail that a retrofit is the best way to go about it. Do you have a engineering degree? or just what other people have told you?. I have a general idea how this works, and in trying a specific HID kit with my "theory" is a pretty good idea to get some analysis done. If they can't be adjusted to where it wont blind other people anymore then I already seem to do with the halogens. When I install them, I'm going to park it facing the garage door and tape where the halogens lights are on the door and adjust the HID's so it'll be a even match. So I am hoping that it won't be blinding to other people (too badly at least), I have seen other Tacoma's with PNP HID's that weren't blindingly bright. I noticed the DDM Hi/lo kit's have a glare guard like so (actual product) That is because the lower portion of the headlight is what will reflect the light up. I noticed with them that not the whole headlight bowl illuminates like this So I did some googling because not every factory HID car uses projectors. the DDM HID's were only a few bucks more. My halogen sylvania ZXE lights are starting to discolor (one is whiter then the other) and are $60 a set. I even told people not to put a plug and play kit on their trucks due to glare. I am a big fan of retrofitting, But not a big fan of taking apart my headlights and the cost to do it. I ordered DDM Tuning's "slim" HID kit, 35W, 5000K Hi/lo on monday and should get it in Friday or Saturday. I put DDM HID's on my old E34 but that was just the low beam. Click to expand.Do you happen to have pictures of the light output, And how easy was it to wire up?. ![]()
